Authentication Certificates
Overview
To access certain electronic markets, it is necessary for users to use digital certificates to be authenticated on the platform.
You can also use only the certificate to login in the platform without entering your user name or password.
The Digital Authentication Certificates are mandatory, under the Article 26 º from Order 701-G/2008 from the Portuguese legislation, for the authentication (Login) effects on electronic contracting platforms.
The identification of all users on the electronic platforms takes place through the use of digital certificates.
How to?
Request and Install Vortal Authentication Certificate
After Login, click on top right corner (on user image), select Profile Settings.
Next, on the left side of the page, click on My Digital Certificates.
Click on Request Authentication Certificate.
A new field window will appear on your screen to perform the request for authentication certificate:
- On the field Select Directory, select the folder you pretend to save the certificate;
- Set a password for the certificate, the password cannot be more than 6 characters (the keyword will be used every time you login);
- Check I have read and Accept the terms of Use of Vortal Digital Certificates;
- Click on Request.
The request for authentication certificate will create a file with your name, date and time, with .jks extension, which is stored in the selected folder.
This file is required to complete the certificate request, do not delete it.
The certificate is automatically issued with the status "Accepted".
A new field will be available called Download Digital Certificate to load the certificate:
Click Browse and select the file with jks extension which was generated during the certificate request;
Enter the certificate password (which was defined during the certificate request);
Click Download.
In the folder that you saved the .jks extension file, a new file is generated with .p12 ou .pfx extension, this is your certificate.
The certificate is automatically associated to your user.
In order to log in with certificate, it is necessary to install it on browsers which will be used to access the platform.
To install VORTAL certificate on INTERNET EXPLORER, GOOGLE CHROME e SAFARI:
- Go to the folder where you saved the certificate and double click on the file (with p12 ou pfx extension);
When you double click on the file, Certificate Import Wizard will appear on your screen, click Next;
Click Next;
Enter the certificate password (which was defined during the certificate request) and click Next;
- Click Next;
- Click Finish;
- Success message will appear on your screen.
To install Vortal Certificate on MOZILLA FIREFOX:
- Click on Menu (Three parallel lines on top right corner);
- Click on Options;
Click on Advanced;
Click on Certificates;
Click on View Certificates;
Click on Import.
Select file of Vortal Certificate;
Enter the certificate password (which was defined during the certificate request)
Click OK.
The certificate is installed successfully on your browser.
To install Vortal Certificate on OPERA:
- Click on Opera on top left corner of the browser;
- Click on Settings;
- A new page will appear, after that click on Privacy & Security.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page Click on Manage Certificates under HTTPS/SSL.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page Click on Manage Certificates under HTTPS/SSL.
Select file of Vortal Certificate;
- Enter the certificate password (which was defined during the certificate request)
- Click OK.
The certificate is installed successfully on your browser.
Add New Certificate
On the My Digital Certificates page, click Add Certificate.
The selected certificate is added to your authentication certificates list, and it is immediately visible.
Remove Certificate
On the My Digital Certificates page, you may lookup the list of certificates associated to your user.
Select the certificates to wish to remove and click Remove.
Request a Vortal's Certificate
On the My Digital Certificates page, click Request Authentication Certificate.
On the Request Certificate' page, select a folder on your computer to save the certificate.
The authentication certificate request will generate a file, with the extension .jks (29384.jks), that will be stored in the selected folder.
This file is necessary to complete the certificate request, do not eliminate it.
Define a password for the certificate.
Whenever you use this certificate you must enter the password.
Select the option I have read and accepted the Terms of Use of Vortal Digital Certificates.
Click Request.
Your request is marked as Pending. Only after approval, it will be available.
Download Vortal's authentication certificate
After the certificate request is approved,you will have a area to download it.
Click Search and select the file that was created at the time you made the certificate request.
Enter the certificate password.
Click Download.
It generated a new file with the extension .p12 (example: 29384.p12) at the same location where you saved the original file.
This file is your Vortal certificate.
The Vortal's certificate is now ready for use.
This certificate is automatically added to your authentication certificates list.
By downloading this certificate, any Vortal's certificate request previously associated to your user is automatically revoked and removed from your authentication certificates list.
