On October 12th, 2007 Vortal was awarded the certificate ISO 27001, an internationally recognized standard for information security. It was the third company in Portugal to achieve this distinction. This certificate is the culmination of ongoing work of excellence in all levels of Vortal security, focusing on the most important elements for our business: our clients’ transactional information.

ISO 27001 – the most recognized security standard in the world.

Vortal has adopted high levels of protection for its systems using adequate policies and procedures to meet the strict demands for the ISO 27001 standard, the internationally recognized standard for information security, having been certified for ISO 27001:2005 since 2007, for which certification is annually reviewed and in 2008 was again awarded by the BSI following a fresh external audit in which the effectiveness and maturity of Vortal’s Information Security Management System was singled out for praise.

The compliance with the ISO 27001 standard ensures security in the entire business cycle, from the planning of new systems features to meeting laws and regulations, continually identifying risks, applying technological and physical controls, business continuity measures and disaster recovery, and making people continually aware of security issues, amongst various other aspects.

Vortal has taken on the commitment to implement, maintain and ensure the continuous improvement of its Information Security Management System whose scope embraces information exchanged between clients through the transactional services provided by Vortal’s electronic platform and all client support, management and follow up processes.
